About Hanna
Founder of The Burgundy Cheese Experience
Hanna Shaps is a French-American cheese specialist based in Burgundy. Since 2019, she has worked closely with local producers, affineurs, and artisans to showcase the region’s cheese and gastronomic diversity.
Her path naturally connects cheese and wine. Trained as a cheesemonger in France and the United States, a cheese competition judge, and a member of the Époisses AOP commission, she also spent four years running a wine estate, Maison Shaps, in Meursault, giving her a rare, hands-on understanding of both worlds.
Today, through The Burgundy Cheese Experience, Hanna creates immersive cheese experiences that connect visitors to producers, and Burgundy’s rich gastronomic heritage.
